This performance
racing cat features a centre girder to transmit the mainsheet
loads directly to the forestay, and provides a strong landing
for the screachers. The carbon beams are as low as possible
for reduced windage, and produce a stiff platform. A carbon
rotating wing mast supports kevlar sails. A windscreen protects
the cockpit, and rails on the hull reduce the spray. There
is accommodation for six in the hulls. New Zealand Multihulls
in Silverdale, North of Auckland, currently have recently
launched the first boat to this design. She came second in the NZ 2003 Coastal Classic, it's first race after only one week of sailing. In 2006 X-Factor won the Coastal and the Auckland Tauranga Race.
