TC 1040 Performance Cruising Trimaran
The TC 1040 Trimaran is designed as a maxi sized trailerable yacht, which fits, when folded, into the normal legal road width of 2.5m. Angled, fin styled, lifting foils in the floats help with dynamic lift at speed, and retract in an arc into the floats. Foils on the back of the main hull and floats help with lift and stability at speed.

The cockpit, and offset main hatch, is protected by a permanent dodger. A folding bimini top protects the crew from sun on hot days.

Accommodation is for six, with a double berth forward, two singles in the saloon, and a further double aft under the cockpit. The head is right by the main hatch, while the shower is forward . The galley has all electric appliances, rather than LPG.

Construction is lightweight epoxy foam and glass both for performance and lighter trailing weight. The amas are rounded, using the stressed foam method in two vertically split hull moulds, while the main hull is flat panels for ease of construction.

The first of the design has undergone significant development during its building. The rig has been designed by the owner for ease of folding and retracting, to save using a crane. The fully battened main and jib are self tending on their own wish bone type booms. The mast is twin aluminium foils supported by a tube lattice, and features many innovations.

The first of this design has been built in Holland. See www.mmboat.nl
